From Shaggy to Chic

At My Pets Beauty Salon, we transform messy pups into pampered pooches with precision, care, and a little flair. We specialize in stress-free grooming that’s quick, professional, and designed to make your dog look their best without the hassle. What sets us apart? We make sure every dog walks out looking paw-some, wagging with confidence—because clean fur shouldn’t just look good, it should feel good too.

Comfort

Every dog leaves feeling like they’ve just had a spa day, not survived an ordeal. Our gentle, stress-free approach makes sure your pup enjoys every minute—because relaxed dogs mean wagging tails, not shaky paws.

Quality

From precision cuts to eco-friendly products, we’re all about top-tier grooming that doesn’t cut corners. When your dog looks this good, you’ll wonder why you waited so long for the upgrade.

Convenience

Fast, efficient grooming that works with your schedule (and your dog’s patience). No more long waits or drawn-out sessions—just quick in, quick out, and a pup who’s ready to conquer the day.

My Pets Beauty Salon

Is A Family Business

Shirley Jones

Shirley Jones, with the help of her husband, built My Pets into a local legend in Calgary, blending her passion for pets with decades of expertise. After running the business with heart since its early days, she’s hung up her grooming tools and passed the torch to a new owner, ensuring the legacy lives on. Shirley now spends her retirement focused on writing, community projects, and enjoying well-earned relaxation with her family.

Brittany Jones

As the new powerhouse behind My Pets Beauty Salon in Calgary, Brittany combines her passion for dogs with a drive for excellence. As the youngest certified Master Groomer, Brittany took the reins from her family’s business, building on a legacy started in 1982. But her talents don't stop there—she’s also a dedicated rugby player, representing Canada’s national rugby league team. When she’s not grooming pups or tackling her latest rugby match, Brittany channels her energy into community service and volunteering, showing that whether it’s pets, sports, or people, she’s always leading with heart.

Our History

From Exotic to Everyday (1982-1999)

“You Want a Parrot, a Python, or a Groom?”

My Pets didn’t start out with blow dryers and nail clippers—it began in 1982 as a bustling family-owned exotic pet store. Birds, reptiles, even the odd tarantula—if it was quirky and had fur, feathers, or scales, you’d find it here. Business thrived through the ‘80s as the go-to spot for every pet lover in town. But then the big box stores hit in the ‘90s, selling everything from parakeets to puppy food at half the price. The writing was on the wall: the family could either adapt or watch their beloved business fade away.

Pivot to Pampering (1999-Now)

“Who Needs Snakes When You Can Have Snazzy Schnauzers?”

In the late ‘90s, the family made the tough decision to downsize. Gone were the days of exotic pets in every corner—My Pets turned into a boutique grooming salon, focusing on what mattered most: giving local dogs the royal treatment. The founder’s daughter, a natural talent, took up the clippers and quickly became one of the youngest certified Master Groomers in the business. She didn’t just stop there; she founded both the Alberta Dog Grooming Association and the Canadian Dog Grooming Association, all while perfecting her craft and collecting awards along the way. No more big box threats—this was a new era of luxury pet grooming.

Grooming with Heart

“More Than Just Fur, It’s About Community”

Now, My Pets Beauty Salon is more than just a place for stylish cuts and happy pups. The current owner balances grooming excellence with her other passions—rugby and community service. She’s known just as much for her volunteer work as she is for her grooming chops. Whether she’s on the rugby pitch or organizing a local charity event, she’s always focused on giving back to the community she loves, making her salon as much a part of the neighborhood as the dogs she grooms.
